GMC Cycling Riders win and had fun in Samoa.
The recent Tour of Samoa Cycle race couldn’t have gone any better for GMC Cycling riders.
Ten GMC riders competed in the 4-day tour which crisscrossed the island of Upolu, moved to Savai by ferry, where it circumnavigated the island ending at the beautiful resort of Amoa.
Pamela McCauley won 2 stages and took out 2nd overall in the women whilst Jason Ward and Malcolm Lochhead won stages, and Marlo Rodil finished second overall.
A great time was had by all who competed as well as partners who helped out along the way.
The Tour of Samoa provides a welcome relief from the cold wet winters of New Zealand. The weather is warm, the water is warm, the beer is cold, and the company is great! David Tua even put in an appearance! (Which was probably Gordy’s highlight, talk about behaving like a fanboy!)
